1894-1970Canadiense, fue de los famosos Keystone Cops de Mack Sennett. Esta vinculado al cine desde la segunda decada del siglo XX, y cuenta en su haber con un importante numero de peliculas como director, aunque una parte importante de los dos centenares que consiguio realizar son cortometrajes. Se dice que llego a rodar sus peliculas a la inversa, es decir, empezando por la escena final, siguiendo por la anterior y asi sucesivamente, lo que no debio contribuir, sin duda, a una mejor comprension de las caracteristicas de la trama por parte de los actores. Parece ser que cuando Sennett cerro su estudio en 1933, fue vendedor de coches durante una temporada, hasta que Columbia lo contrato para rodar cortometrajes y, mas tarde, peliculas de serie B.Singin’ in the Corn. 1946. 65 minutos.
